NBC’s ‘The Office’ season 9 finale spoilers: Will Andy and Erin get back together?

The OfficeWhen Erin first came on the scene we were sure that she was going to be Andy’s end game romance on “The Office” – the series had certainly been building towards that, but with the series not really knowing what to do with Andy’s character ever since he came back from anger management all those seasons ago, the connection Andy had with Erin (or with anyone for that matter) seemed to be falling to pieces.  It also hasn’t helped that actor Ed Helms had to leave the series for extended periods of time to film “The Hangover” leaving his character doing things like taking off on 3 month long boating trip.

So is there any hope for these two or do viewers want to see Erin and Pete together? Executive producer Greg Daniels spoke to Entertainment Weekly over the weekend and said that some big changes will be coming up in Erin and Andy’s lives before the show wraps up in May.  He said: “There are a lot of big changes in both their lives; I’ll say that.  To really understand their relationship, you probably should watch it [unfold in the next episodes].”

Jake Lacey (Pete) said a little more then he should have to the publication about one of the characters finding love (we suspect it’s either Pete or Andy) before the series ends.  He said: “[SPOILER] finds love in a different way, I suppose. He’s certainly not left out in the cold.  He’s not put on a boat and shoved out in the ocean.”  Daniels is mostly hoping that he can get a little more air time to make the finale longer to ensure that every character gets a proper ending, but at this time it’s not clear how long the series finale will actually be.

New episodes of “The Office” season 9 won’t be back on NBC until Thursday, April 4th, so be sure to check back here for more updates and spoilers until it returns.  If you want more “Office” scoop now, then check out our story about Jim and Pam’s ending on the show here.
