MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3 premiere date announced, along with new trailer
We knew that “Awkward” season 3 was going to be out come April; but now, MTV has officially stuck a premiere date on their critically-acclaimed series featuring Ashley Rickards as Jenna Hamilton. The expanded 20-episode third season of the show will premiere on a new night in Tuesday, April 16 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and will feature back-to-back new episodes before the premiere of the new series “Girl Code” at 10:30 beginning the following week.
For those of you in America (sorry, Canada and everywhere else), you can watch the full trailer over at the link here, and it includes all sorts of humor and spoilery goodness. Not everything will be perfection in Jenna’s life, and while you would think that she would be happy now that she has chosen Matty over Jake, it turns out that life is not always so easy for her.
MTV also released the full synopsis for the first two episodes:
“In the season three premiere episode, Jenna’s junior year brings a wave of surprises and changes that potentially will impact her future in an indelible way. And in the second episode, the death of classmate will leave Jenna to reflect on loss, grieving, and taking responsibility for a secret she’s keeping from Matty.”
Two of the major new arrivals for the series include Anthony Michael Hall playing a teacher, and also Nolan Gerard Funk (Hunter on “Glee”) playing the part of a classmate who could create some problems for the Jenna / Matty relationship.
