‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 notes: Elizabeth McGovern; Dan Stevens’ post-show look
While ITV and PBS are both keeping a very tight lid on the fourth season of “Downton Abbey,” we are at least getting an opportunity to see what some of the show’s actors past and present are up to away from the show.
Let’s start things off here with Elizabeth McGovern, otherwise known as the one of two actors that we are profiling today who actually are a part of her show. She is the part of a band away from the show called Sadie & the Hotheads, and she has had an opportunity this past week to spend some time with another singer / songwriter in Gretchen Peters.
In the video below, you can see McGovern’s band, Peters, and Barry Walsh all perform a cover of the Rolling Stones classic “Wild Horses” while at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. In addition to this performance, Peters and Walsh had the opportunity to visit the Highclere Castle grounds, where “Downton Abbey” films all of their upstairs scenes, with the actress.
As for Dan Stevens … The actor may no longer be a part of the show, but he is making highlights for his appearance. We’ve already told you a little bit about how the actor has dyed his familiar blonde hair a dark brown for a new role, and now we’re also having an opportunity to see that the actor has also slimmed down to what is now a very gaunt look.
As you can see here, there is quite a transformation for Stevens as he prepares to take on his first major movie role since leaving the show in “A Walk Among the Tombstones.” He has also taken part in the Broadway production of “The Heiress” alongside Jessica Chastain.
If you want to see what a pair of “Downton Abbey” boys in Ed Speleers and Allen Leech are up to at the moment, you can do so over at the link here.
