‘Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites’ rankings: Malcolm Freberg holds strong
For the third straight weekend, we are stuck literally ranking the same nine Favorites again on our “Survivor Caramoan” rankings, and were it not for what is happening with a certain Brandon Hantz, we would say that this tribe could literally go into the merge with all of its numbers. They are strong competitors, and there are also some great strategists mixed in here.
But who is in the best position to win? Based on strategy, challenge ability, perception from the tribe, and of course that pesky thing known as an immunity idol, we have been able to conjure up the following list.
The Favorites
9. Brandon Hantz (last week: 8) – We thought that Corinne was for sure a goner … but then Brandon had to go out and act like a complete and total crazy person in the preview for next week. If this guy is not voted out at some point next week, something is terribly wrong with the modern game of “Survivor.”
8. Corinne Kaplan (9) – Think of this as a one-week reprieve. We don’t really get why Andrea wants to cannibalize her own alliance so soon in the game, but this really is a “to each its own” sort of situation.
7. Brenda Lowe (7) – Is Andrea just trying to get rid of all of the other young women? It’s just interesting that when talking about Phillip choosing to give her the nickname of “Serenity,” Andrea acted like it was the most horrible thing in the world. Take this as proof that she is definitely on the outs.
6. Andrea Boehlke (4) – The more we see of Andrea in this game, the more we think she is playing way too hard this time, and way too fast. It’s like she is trying to overcompensate for the fact that she was played during “Redemption Island,” and trying to make moves when she doesn’t need to. This could get her in trouble sooner rather than later.
5. Erik Reichenbach (5) – He’s a physical threat and that helps to keep him safe, but at the same time, we have to believe that the tribe will target him juts before the merge, since he is the last person you really want winning challenge after challenge. The Silent One, you have to figure, will only stay silent for so long.
4. Phillip Sheppard (6) – It’s surprising in some ways, but Phillip is actually helped at the moment by Andrea being aggressive. Since nobody really takes the Specialist completely seriously, she’ll be seen as the more dangerous gamer, and he can skate by a while longer with his antics and cheesy nicknames.
3. Dawn Meehan (3) – It’s a familiar top three yet again here, and with there being so few eliminations, it’s hard to really say anything new here. We know that Dawn is strong, but of the top three she’s the biggest threat without an idol.
2. John Cochran (2) – Meanwhile, we don’t really think anyone views Cochran as a threat at all, and with Dawn still at his side, he is capable of really flipping around later in the game if he wants to cut ties with the Stealth R Us operation.
1. Malcolm Freberg (1) – Malcolm still has a hard road ahead to winning the game, but he’s in the dominant alliance, he has an immunity idol, and he’s a challenge threat. If he plays his cards right, he could make it all the way to the final five, and then he just has to win out to probably win the game.
