NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Joel McHale teases episode from Jim Rash
While there is little doubt at this point that “Community” is not the series that it was for the first three seasons, there is still reason to be excited about the road ahead. This is still a show with one of the best casts out there, and it also has more multi-faceted starts out there than anyone. What other comedy can you think of that has a “Mad Men” star, a “Hangover” scene-stealer, a host of an E! comedy show, a professional rapper, a “Saturday Night Live” alum, and an Oscar-winner all listed as series regulars?
We have already seen some of these actors show their other talents on the show (including Donald Glover’s rapping), and now, Joel McHale has told E! News in a new interview that we will be seeing the Oscar-winning writer Jim Rash use his talents for good a little later this season:
“The great Jim Rash wrote an episode which is a Freaky Friday episode in the vein of Jodi Foster’s Freaky Friday and so, that one was really fun.”
So who ends up changing roles during this episode? In a perfect world, and considering who the writer is for this episode, we would love to see Jeff Winger try to swap places with Dean Pelton and experience what his life would be like. (Then again, the Dean would probably find some insanely perverse pleasure in getting to live as his favorite student.) Some other great possibilities including Pierce and Britta, Troy and Britta, and really just Chang with anyone.
Do you think an episode penned by Rash will be the highlight of “Community” season 4? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can see our most-recent episode review over at the link here.

It would be interesting to see Britta and Annie change places…

As disappointed as I was with NBC making such a bad decision to shelf Community season 3 and fire Dan Harmon I still hold respect for the actresses and actors as well as writers and producers who now run it and give them an open mind to view it because that alone still makes it a great show on tv and no other show on tv can ever replace or do what Community has done even with new producers. I respect Moses Port’s great work on IT Crowd and I expect that he will draw in many talented people from the BBC if a season 5 is given a go by NBC. I think Jim Rash is very talented and I can’t wait to see his episode, and I love the fact that there have been guest directors as well as writers. My last words about the legacy of Community the show is this : “Too weird to live, too rare to die!” ― Hunter S. Thompson
