‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Shockers for Nina Dobrev’s Elena

What in the world is coming next for Elena on “the Vampire Diaries”? The character has clearly been through her share of difficult times already, but somehow, would you believe that the most difficult times of all are still to come? Based on the latest scoop that is coming in now, this may very well actually be the case.

According first and foremost to a report from TVLine, Elena is going to do something while trying to get over what happened to Jeremy (whose fate will be revealed by the end of Thursday night’s episode) that is in a word “hot.” Our guess? She’s probably going to hook up with someone, and whether or not it is Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is still to be seen. The snarky Salvatore brother has been her love interest ever since a few weeks into the season, though there were suspicions that the pesky sire bond was in some way facilitating her feelings.

As for what may be evidence that she does not do something involving Damon at all, TV Guide reports that Elena will be doing something in Thursday’s episode that she later regrets. While it is possible that we are talking about something different than the “hot” scene here, just how much trouble can one woman get herself into in the span of an hour-long episode? Plus, we have to assume that there be spent some time potentially mourning in here, as well. If there is a way to bring Jeremy back from the dead, we don’t quite know what it is right now.
