NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4: Watch Alison Brie rap (again)
Rather than spend our Tuesday night presenting a new clip from Thursday night’s “Community” (mostly because we are afraid to at the moment after the first two uneven episodes of season 4), let’s focus instead on something that brings back great memories of the season 3 outtakes: Alison Brie rapping. We don’t know how this happened (maybe Childish Gambino rubbed off on her?), but she’s really quite good at it. As a matter of fact, we’re pretty sure that Joel McHale probably had Annie’s expression to the left on his face when he heard her for the first time.
In an effort to promote the fourth season, which probably needs the help considering the massive Valentine’s Day drop, Brie stopped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” this week to talk about the show along with some of her rapping skills. Despite having a hairdo that reminded us much more of her other famous character in Trudy Campbell, she busted out a rather impressive rhyme with the help of Questlove and The Roots that accentuated everything that is good about the “Community” world.
If you really must have scoop for “Community” to go along with the rap, Thursday’s episode will revolve around the gang arriving at an “Inspector Spacetime” convention, where Troy risks being replaced as Abed’s partner-in-crime by another attendee at the event, and Tricia Helfer stops by to give Jeff Winger uncomfortable feelings about science fiction in the context of trying to pick up women. We just hope that it is weird and funny in an unexpected way, not in the way of your uncle trying to be really funny by just rehashing the same joke you hear at your last birthday party.
Just in case you haven’t seen the rap that we referred to at the start of the article, check it out in all of its glory at the bottom of this article.
Be sure to also check out our other “Community” coverage.
