‘American Idol’ Grammy notes: Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez
With this edition of “American Idol” notes, we’re going to focus on one of the biggest events in music happening on Sunday nights: the Grammys. While you don’t see any other major American singing competition at the moment playing a role in the CBS awards show, you better believe that this show is going to have quite a presence there.
Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are both nominees for the big night, and we’re hearing that as a part of her performance, she is going to be taking on the classic song “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” For those of you who are historians of “American Idol,” then you know already that this is something that Kelly slayed all the way back in the early days of the show. If you haven’t seen it, watch and enjoy.
Of course, Grammys are more than just the actual show, and there is an entire weekend of celebrations and pre-show parties. One event, the Friends ‘N’ Family Party at Paramount Studios, drew the likes of former Grammy-nominee Adam Lambert along with a successful former “Canadian Idol” contestant in Carly Rae Jepsen (who most people in America don’t even realize was on a reality show). Adam, by the way, was snubbed for one of the best pop albums of the year in “Trespassing.”
There was also another pre-Grammy event that took place at the ESPN Zone At L.A Live this week, and this included appearances by the likes of Kris Allen, Jordin Sparks, Jessica Sanchez, and Crystal Bowersox … who, in case you haven’t heard, will be on Broadway later this year playing the part of Patsy Cline.
What “American Idol” star do you want to see win a Grammy within the next two years? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can view some of our favorite guys from this current season by heading on over to the link here.

I was very surprised Adam got no nominations in any of the categories. I too fell in love with him from the get-go & couldn’t wait until the next week to see what he would perform and (omg) what he would be wearing. Whether it was a heavy duty rock’n’roll song (Whole Lotta of Love) or a stirring ballad like “Mad World”, he never once let me down. Adam has chosen a tough profession to be in that’s for sure. But he also has probably grown a very thick skin. You’d be crazy if you didn’t! Besides. he has Sauli and fans on every continent. ADAM KNOWS WE :LOVE HIM!

Adam Lambert’s TRESPASSING garnered a ton of critical acclaim and those who know music seem to love and respect him. It seems it’s only these award shows that don’t see the MAGIC.
In a couple days Adam leaves for his “Not in the USA Tour.” Although I want him to have mega success, I need to see him again. I’m still holding out for a QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT tour in the Summer.

Adam Lambert is the best live entertainer in the business and he is not nominated for a Grammy? I won’t watch the show again unless he performs.

If Adam were recognized in America for his fierce musical sense as well as his fierce fashion sense the country would be rocked back on it’s heels like the rest of the world. This country is so isolated and manipulated it’s scary.

Well, it is pretty obvious to me why Adam has been snubbed. If Adam performs, everyone else will be BORING! Think back to when Adam performed with Queen at the MTV European Music Awards. Why is the music industry so obviously threatened by Adam’s talent? The Grammy’s is about acknowledging and show-casing the best in the ‘music’ industry and yet in reality, this is NOT the case.
Can you imagine the increase in viewership if Adam had to perform????? The mind boggles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
