‘American Horror Story’ season 3: Could Sarah Paulson play a villain?
After watching two seasons of “American Horror Story” and seeing that show runner Ryan Murphy likes to use many of the same actors over and over again in different roles, we wonder what he has in store for the three people that have already signed on for season 3, Evan Peters, Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson.
We’ve seen Lange play a character with a bit of a nasty side in both seasons and Peters play a psychopath and a man accused of being a psychopath, but what about Paulson? In season one viewers didn’t really get a good feel for what she is capable of as an actor since her role as Billie Dean, the psychic, wasn’t exactly a leading role, but after watching her play the lead in season 2 as Lana Winters, we couldn’t be more excited for season 3. Winters was the hero in season 2, a reporter who shut down the evil asylum called Briarcliff and put an end to Bloody Face’s murderous rampage, so what role will she play in season 3? In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Paulson said that Murphy likes to switch up roles, so if you are a nice person in season 2, you’ll likely be a nasty piece of work in season 3. Will Paulson be playing a villain next season? She said:
“I was thinking about that so I was thinking I might not be a very nice person. I might be a perpetrator of horrible things as opposed to being perpetrated.”
Murphy has dropped hints in the last few episodes of “American Horror Story: Asylum” as to what he has planned for season 3, but at this point everyone is really in the dark, including the actors. Paulson said:
“I know jack s***. If this year is any indication, I certainly know that if there’s any person I’m going to go into something blindly with, it would be Ryan. He trusts me to show up and do the best to honor what he’s written. I don’t know what he has in store for me but I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get in the muck.”
