‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Is Joseph Morgan getting an Elena?

KlausAs it turns out, the upcoming “Vampire Diaries” backdoor pilot airing on April 25 may have more in common with the original show than you would initially think. As you likely know already, this show (if it ends up making it to the fall TV season) is entitled “The Originals,” and it will revolve largely on Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and his attempt to return to a community he once knew rather well: New Orleans. As for the news that is coming out today, he’s going to have some company in the form of some human characters who are completely new to this whole supernatural experience.

According to Zap2It, producers for the show are currently casting the part of Camille, who is a psychology student at Tulane with no understanding of a secret world of vampires, werewolves, and the like. She does have a fascinating with some of the city’s hidden secrets, and this may be where Klaus ends up coming into play. This character is expected to become a regular if the show is ordered to series, though it may be a little early still to say that they will be the lovers at the center of the show. (Doesn’t Klaus still need to deal with Caroline?)

The only other new character we know about at the moment is Marcel, who is a man that Klaus has some sort of history with from his past in the city. Meanwhile, Phoebe Tonkin is expected to be a regular as Hayley if the series is greenlit, and it is also possible that Claire Holt, Nathaniel Buzolic, or Daniel Gillies could also come over depending on their comments both to “The Vampire Diaries” and other shows. After all, the show is not called “The Original.”

Do you think that introducing a character in the Elena vein is essential to a show like this? Be sure to share below, and head over to the link here to watch a sneak peek for Thursday’s new “Vampire Diaries” episode.
