‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Who should have been dead by now?
(Warning: The following contains spoilers from “Downton Abbey” season 4, and with that in mind we cannot caution you enough to read on with this article at your own risk.)
We learned during the season 3 Christmas special for the hit ITV series that Dan Stevens was officially going to be leaving to pursue other opportunities … but who knew that there was another character who was almost gone from the show a long time ago? Rob-James Colliers recent spoke out in a new interview with Out Magazine, and within its pages he made a number of stunning admissions … beginning with the fact that he was originally set to see the story of the vicious Thomas end after just one season:
“[My agent] said, ‘Listen, you’ve got the part that everyone in town wants – he’s a villain, he’s a great role, the only bad thing is that he dies at the end of the first series.’ I gave it 110 per cent, and after the first couple of episodes, Liz, the producer, came to me and said, ‘We want you to stay on. Will you?’ And I was like, ‘F**k, yeah!'”
Now, it is pretty clear that just about everyone associated with “Downton Abbey” as a show has to be rather pleased with this decision. Rob has been an integral part of the cast for some time now, and we also saw his character involved in a very intriguing story during season 3 where Thomas ended up nearly losing his job thanks to some feelings that he had for one of the Abbey’s new employees in Jimmy.
Sadly, we don’t know what the role for Thomas in the new season (which starts filming later this year) will be. However, you can find out some more information on Michelle Dockery’s future by heading on over to the link here.
