‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Claire Holt still waiting word on spin-off
We already know now that The CW is moving forward with plans to air a backdoor pilot later on in “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 for “The Originals,” a series that would really serve as a showcase for Joseph Morgan’s Klaus as he moves to New Orleans and reconnects with some people from his past. Given the name of the show, some more members of the First Family of Vampires have to be joining him, right? With Daniel Gillies having a rather tight schedule at the moment thanks to “Saving Hope,” Claire Holt’s Rebekah is really the only other actor with a rather large presence on the flagship show who could sign on. (Holt’s former co-star from Australia in Phoebe Tonkin is on board, but she is not a member of the Original family.)
So will this happen? For the time being, Holt tells Entertainment Weekly that she is honestly unsure about the future of her character; nonetheless, she still sounds excited for just about any and every opportunity that ends up coming her way:
“We haven’t read a script yet for [the April TVD episode that will serve as backdoor pilot]. I guess we’ll just have to wait to find out.”
As for her part in Thursday night’s new episode “After School Special,” which is largely based around her grand return to Mystic Falls after being daggered again, Holt was able to be a little more descriptive about getting the opportunity to play a Rebekah who was completely in control of her situation:
“Rebekah gathers Stefan, Elena, and Caroline in the high school and she basically psychologically tortures them … She questions them about the tattoo, and the cure, and Stefan and Elena’s relationship, and it brings some uncomfortable truths to light. It’s definitely going to be much more difficult for Caroline, Elena, and Stefan than it is for Rebekah.”
In case you are curious about what could end up taking Klaus down the road to where he could want to move away from Mystic Falls, be sure to read the story over here.
