‘Downton Abbey’ season 3, episode 2 preview: Shirts and Shirley MacLaineJanuary 13, 2013 1 comment
“Downton Abbey” fans, rejoice! The second episode of season 3 is getting set to air in America on Sunday night, and there is plenty worth getting excited about when it comes to Matthew, Mary, and some of the other characters. Do not fret: we’ll promise you always if there are spoilers ahead from the British airings, and this one is spoiler-free.
Almost straight out of the gate, be prepared to have some sort of answer when it comes to Matthew and Mary’s wedding, and you will get a chance to really see where the story takes them next. However, the Abbey is not exactly going to be in position to fully celebrate thanks to some of the money woes carried over from last week. Robert is still going to continue to be at odds when it comes to what to do with the estate, and there is a major social crisis that he finds himself in: he rather enjoys the power and the status that comes from his family house, and is willing to even risk peril not to part with it.
As for what else you can expect here, take a look at some assorted teasers:
-A shirt is somehow going to play a major role in a storyline.
-We will see a rather unconditional gathering of characters that should certainly surprise the residents upstairs.
-Shirley MacLaine will once again have a rather large role as Martha in this episode, and she is going to try to teach some of these uptight members of the upper class to have a little bit of fun. As for whether or not she succeeds, that is an entirely different story.
