‘Glee’ season 5: Negotiations underway; questions still about Darren Criss, others
For any and all of you that held some anxiety over the future of “Glee,” rest assured that there is some good news coming up from Fox: a season 5 for the musical comedy is all but a given at this point, at least according to what Fox’s own executive in Kevin Reilly is saying at this very moment.
Speaking to a small group of reporters following the network’s TCA showcase on Tuesday, the network programming head said (per The Hollywood Reporter) that there are negotiations underway for not only season 5, but also another potential season beyond that. What’s one of the reasons behind this? As we reported earlier, the network wants to give the assurance to Oxygen’s excellent “The Glee Project” that it can begin casting for a season 3 if at all possible. After all, there is no “Glee Project” without the flagship show.
Reilly was also asked about the possibility of the show shifting its focus to New York full-time in season 5, especially given that the likes of Cory Monteith, Darren Criss, and Heather Morris all specifically have something waiting for them in the Big Apple if they can get their relationships sorted out. He did not give a firm answer, but said that everything is up for discussion:
“I have to talk to Ryan and see where he’s at right now; I don’t know, I wonder could it and should it naturally move there but we have to talk about it.”
While “Glee” has seen its ratings drop over the past two years, Reilly said that he is pleased with the show’s “consistency,” and his only real regret is that it has been shuffled around the schedule frequently thanks to everything from baseball to the holiday season.
Stay tuned, as we’ll of course have more on a “Glee” renewal when it happens. (Yes, not “if.”) If you want to read some more scoop about the upcoming “Sadie Hawkins” episode, you can find out more about it here.

They Need to Open Up The Glee Project to the UK. Get some more diversity in the Glee Show. I’d love to audition but wouldn’t dare be able to afford to live in America just to try out.. and even then i wouldn’t qualify :'( *epic sad face*

Consistency???? Really??? Renewing Glee just so the Glee Project has a reason to exist for another season???? R e a l l y??????????? Somebody help—-I’m caught in vortex between hysterical laughter and disgust!! Guess I’ll go with the laughter–it’s not worth the negativity of disgust. So, what a hoot—-one of the worst written shows I’ve ever seen gets another shot. And some say Fox has no sense of humor.

No, no, nooooooo!…The Glee project was a sham from start to finish, seasons 1 AND 2. Everyone knows it. If the producers have any integrity left they’ll tuck their prospective tails in and run for cover. They killed that show with their blatant dishonesty and the underhanded way they treated several contestants. Just let sleeping dogs lie, Hollywood. You killed a good, clean and charming show concept with typical crooked LA-like shenanigans. Integrity…..get some….please…
