‘Fringe’ series finale spoilers: Check out the official synopsis
Is it strange to think that the series finale of “Fringe” is just over two weeks away? Definitely, but on January 18 the much-beloved piece of science fiction will be saying farewell with a two-hour episode that will hopefully answer at least some of your pressing questions. With this very thing in mind, we now have the official synopsis from Fox, which gives you at least a general idea of just what is going to be coming up on the show next.
Want firm details? You’ll probably be disappointed here, as the description is intentionally vague not only so that nothing is actually given away, but to ultimately take on a feel that is a little bit more nostalgic than just another press release. After all, this is the last time that we are ever going to have one of these to hand down when it comes to this show:
“The acclaimed series that has explored the human condition through the prism of parallel universes, unexplainable phenomena and unimaginable threats, reaches a milestone 100th episode and comes to an epic and climatic conclusion. First, the Fringe team engages a desperate plan as Olivia embarks on a dangerous and otherworldly journey into the unknown. Then, Peter, Olivia, Walter, Astrid and Broyles face off against the Observers in one final and extraordinary battle for the fate of mankind. The five-season saga comes to an epic and emotional end in the special two-hour ‘Liberty/An Enemy of Fate’ series finale episode of FRINGE airing Friday, Jan. 18.”
The only thing that we suppose counts as a major spoiler is that the five principal characters of the series at this point are going to make it to the final two episodes, but this is pretty assumed in many ways given how cruel it would be to take someone away from us now.
What do you anticipate happening in the series finale? If you want to take a step back from this and take a look toward the upcoming return of the show on January 11, you can do so here.
