‘American Idol’ Christmas notes: Kris Allen, Scotty McCreery, David Archuleta

American IdolThis is our final “American Idol” notes before Christmas, so we wanted to be able to share a number of videos to get you in a little bit of the holiday spirit featuring some of the most-notable contestants in the history of the show. We’re just going to provide quite bits of commentary to go along with most of these clips, largely because the videos really do speak for themselves.

The first video we want to share is a beautiful, stirring performance of “Silent Night” that is coming to us via an organization that Kris Allen works with rather closely in World Vision, and it should put you in a rather reflective mood just before you start drinking your eggnog and cutting the Christmas turkey. Remember, sometimes you need this time to sit back and breathe during this busy time of year.

We’ve posted some videos of Scotty McCreery from the CMA Country Christmas special already this month, but think of this performance of “The First Noel” as a little bit of a bonus. Just as you would expect, Scotty sings it very well.

In closing out the music portion of this article, we also have an original song entitled “Christmas Card” from season 7 alum Brooke White, who also just happens to be celebrating Christmas this year as a new mom. This video is a little bit older (as she first posted it earlier last month), but considering the theme here it certainly fits.

Finally, we’re going to close things off here with a holiday message from someone we are not hearing from very much these days in David Archuleta, mostly because he is still in Latin America on a mission. It’s not clear when this video was actually recorded, but hats off to David and his team for thinking so far in advance here and continuing to put out new content.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone! If you want to read some more “American Idol” notes featuring Scotty and Adam Lambert, you can do so over at the link here.
