‘Glee’ season 4: See what Naya Rivera’s been up to in her time away! (video)

Naya RiveraWith the new structure for “Glee” season 4, many of the actors have not been forced to spend as much time on the show’s set as they have been over the course of the past several years. With that in mind, many of them have had opportunities to branch out and do other things, whether this be film roles for movies, hit the recording studio, or help with charity projects.

When it comes to Naya Rivera (who is otherwise known as Santana Lopez), this break has given the actress an opportunity to show off her vocal pipes in a completely new way, and with a pair of artists who were actually a part of the show’s “Smooth Criminal” performance earlier this year: 2Cellos. These three have collaborated on a spectacular new cover of the Muse track “Supermassive Black Hole,” which you can see in the video below.

First and foremost, we’re pretty sure that we will never see Santana show off the same amount of skin that Rivera does in this steamy video, and nor have we seen her in this sort of trippy outer-space environment. With that being said, the video is a complete and total blast: Rivera proves yet again that she may be the closest thing that this show has to a bonafide pop superstar, and the 2Cellos once again show that they are about the coolest people with classic string instruments out there.

For those of you out there who were bummed out about the lack of Santana during the show’s recent “Glee, Actually” Christmas episode, don’t fret: Santana will be back in a big way for some episodes early next year, including one where she will be featured for a number of solos.
