‘The X Factor’ USA: Can Carly Rose Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony succeed post-show?

Carly Rose SonenclairWe are now near the end of “The X Factor” USA, and whenever we are at this point in a season on a reality show, we always like to ask one question: are any of these singers people who could have a genuine chance at making it big in the music industry? The winner here does receive a whopping $5 million recording contract, but what is the point of getting it unless you are able to do a little something with it down the road?

With that, we’re going to take a look at all three of these singers, and whether or not any of them are actually capable of becoming the first star of the American show to really go on and have an enormous career after the fact (as Chris Rene thus far is the only person to have even a sliver of success on the main stage).

Carly Rose Sonenclar – We think that if she is given the right material (which is not some of the material she has been performing at times this season), she could end up becoming a success; the real question for her is just whether or not she can have fun in her music the way in which people expect from a 13-year old girl. She needs to have fans that can grow up with her, and this is something that her mentor in Britney Spears knows quite a bit about. Her winning wouldn’t be a bad thing for the show, though it would be a massive gamble.

Tate Stevens – Tate, meanwhile, is probably in for a decent career regardless of whether or not he wins. Will he become the next Jason Aldean? No, and he’s not mainstream enough to really cross over into anything other than country. We do see him selling plenty of records in the country community, and he should be able to support his family with his career regardless of where he places from here on out. He’s just not the star necessarily that producers are hoping for.

Fifth Harmony – They were the underdogs to even get into the finale, but we’re now starting to think that them winning could be the best thing to happen to the show. They still have that playful spirit and energy that suggests they are just happy to be there, and this is something that America does not have at the moment in a girl group, and the last two big ones (Destiny’s Child and the Dixie Chicks) were in a little bit different genres. Simon Cowell’s a smart man, and these girls could have the potential to be pretty big if he can find the right people for them to work with and market them like he has with Little Mix in the UK: a group of girls who are easily to relate to and fun.

Who do you think is poised to have the best career after the show? If you want to read up on who each artist will be performing with during the finale this week, all you have to do is visit the link here.
