‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Scoop on Quinn, Saul’s future
Who is going to return for “Homeland” season 3? This is of course a question that many fans are begging to know the answer to at this very moment; and luckily, we do have some good news about this very thing courtesy of a conference call executive producer Alex Gansa gave with reporters on Monday.
First and foremost, we should get the inevitable out of the way in saying that Brody will be back at some point, though it is unclear if it will be early on during the show next year or at some point down the road in the future. Producers toyed with the idea of actually killing the character off, but opted not to thanks in part to the chemistry Damian Lewis and Claire Danes share together onscreen. As for Brody’s family, meanwhile, we expect them to either be gone altogether or to just have tiny cameos here and there. If Brody is out of the picture in America, how important can they really be?
Now, let’s talk about the good news. For one, Quinn (Rupert Friend) will be returning after becoming a popular character during the second season, and really the only reason why Brody is still alive. Gansa also took the time to make it crystal clear that Saul is not the CIA mole:
“The conception of Saul was always the guy who occupied the moral central of our story … He and Carrie are gonna push the story forward into season three. Carrie made a choice—she chose Saul, not Brody.”
The last thing we will say is that it is likely that Carrie is going to be spending much of season 3 chasing down threats overseas, so this in many ways will feel like a fresh start to a show that needed one after a polarizing fall.

We want Carrie & Brody together…in heart, if not literally in the same space at the same time. Find a way for them to communicate. Suspense and romance wins the day.

I love Damian Lewis and do hope he is not written out of the script. He doesn’t have to return to Carrie, but he certainly should be a part of the plot.
