NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Are Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope picks to win?

Cassadee PopeThe finale of “The Voice” season 3 is just about here, and it looks as though we could be in for a good one … especially if your name is Blake Shelton. Two artists in Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope are both among the final three, and if you look at the buzz online it seems likely that one of the two is going to walk away with the title at the end of this.

So who is out personal pick? We’re basing this on a few things, with the main one being the history of iTunes sales, which have proven time and time again thus far to be the biggest determining factor in trying to figure out who will ultimately win the season. While none of the remaining artists have been perfect, we’re thrilled that all three have had some pretty awesome moments over the past few months.

3. Nicholas David (last week: 2)- The one thing that Nicholas has going for him is that as Cee Lo Green’s only artist, fans of the “Forget You” singer may pool their votes more so than they did last week. The bad thing? Blake seems to easily be the most-popular coach when it comes to the show’s viewers.

There is still an outside chance that Nicholas could win, but he needs a huge moment, one even bigger than “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Sadly, we just don’t know if he can surprise anyone anymore since we have seen so much great music from him already.

2. Terry McDermott (3) – The appeal of Terry seems to be simple: he’s a guy who reminds older viewers of a different time in their lives. This is not really the sort of artist that Universal Music probably wants to be, but he is in many ways the people’s champ and his music has sold well on iTunes. Most importantly, he had a nice moment this past week with “Let It Be.”

The issue with Terry is that Cassadee is going to pull some of the Blake Shelton voters, and while we see him as a strong runner-up candidate, there are not many scenarios we see him winning unless he pulls out the best performance in the history of the show.

1. Cassadee Pope (1) – At this point, we’re willing to go so far as to say that there is a 90% chance Cassadee wins this whole thing come Tuesday night. She’s improved more vocally than any of the three singers left, and her trajectory has constantly been upward. She also has a built-in fanbase from Hey Monday, the top-selling song on the show this year in “Over You,” and she’s also current enough to connect with younger voters.

All Cassadee needs to do in order to secure the title is sing one song that is in her wheelhouse, and then couple it with something that will at least be surprising like “Over You” was when she first covered it.

Who do you think is going to win “The Voice”? Be sure to vote in the poll below, and you can also take a look back at Trevin Hunte’s elimination over here.
