‘American Idol’ news: Phillip Phillips, Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez
Even though the world may be abuzz with “The X Factor” and “The Voice” ending next week, why don’t we take a little break from those two shows for a few minutes to talk about the original flavor when it comes to singing competitions? “American Idol” season 12 is currently filming Hollywood Week, and in addition to that, we now have some more headlines concerning a few major contestants from the show’s decorated past.
We’ll star things off this time with the reigning champ in Phillip Phillips, mostly because the guy is proving time and time again that he has a wonderful sense of humor and is definitely not afraid of mocking himself in any shape or form. The champ appeared on “The Soup” Wednesday night, and basically had a little bit of fun with the fact that his last name is … well, his first name. It’s a simple-enough gag, but watching how it plays out here makes it worth watching through and through.
Adam Lambert’s funny admission – We don’t have an embed for this clip, but you can check it out over here. Basically, we can sum it up by saying this for all of you outside of the United States: sometimes, even Adam Lambert struggles sometimes forgets the lyrics to some of his own songs.
Adam is going to be the host of VH1’s “Divas” special (who is responsible for this video), which airs on Sunday night and features performances from some of the greatest stars in music.
Finally, an admission via Jessica – In a new post on her Twitter account, Jessica had the following to say about what is going to be a major music event for fans in the Philippines.
“Valentines Day, I’ll be coming to be Manila to perform my first solo concert at Smart Araneta Coliseum!!! :)”
