‘Downton Abbey’ season 3: Hugh Bonneville, cast has fun on publicity tour

Downton Abbey CastThe cast of “Downton Abbey” is going to have a little bit of a harder time promoting season 3 close to its January 6 premiere on PBS, mostly due to the fact that the majority of American viewers will be getting off of their holiday high. With that in mind, many of the show’s actors are busy making the publicity rounds now.

This week, some of the more-familiar names on the series have been seen out and about in New York City, and this attached photo featuring High Bonneville front and center may very well be one of the greatest things ever. Show in a new York subway (which has to be the least-crowded subway station ever), it features the Emmy-nominated actor changing up the sign while joined by his co-stars Rob James-Collier (Thomas), Sophie McShera (Daisy), Joanne Froggatt (Anna), and Brendan Coyle (who still looks like he is playing Bates even in the subway).

In addition to enjoying the local transit, the cast also paid a visit to Madison Square Garden in order to take in a Knicks game, and they also took a photo with one of the team’s (injured) superstars in Amare Stoudemire, who may just be quirky enough to be a “Downton Abbey” fan considering some of his other interests. While the series has not reached the same level in popularity stateside as it has in its native country, it has surely become more of a sensation than ever, with it shattering ratings records on PBS earlier this year (and it will surely do the same thing this time around).
