NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera hit up ‘Ellen’ for performance
While there have been the times the first two seasons of “The Voice” where we felt annoyed, there is a reason why season 3 has been a revelation us: the show not only has featured better talent, but the coaches seem more natural than ever. While there have been feuds (see Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine), there is also evidence that these four really all appreciate each other on some level, and even enjoy making a little bit of music when the cameras are not rolling.
Take, for example, Christina’s smart decision to duet with Blake on a song entitled “Just a Fool.” The pair performed the track on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week, and we have to say that it was a rather entertaining listen. Not only were the lyrics rather solid, but we had no idea that the two would actually sound as entertaining as a pair as they did. Blake held his own against some of her powerhouse vocals, and she was smart enough to not overwhelm him as she has done with some of the contestants that she performed with on “The Voice” in the past.
This song is fresh off of Christina’s new album “Lotus,” which she is doing her best to promote at the moment given that she does not have much else to do on “The Voice” anymore. Both she and Adam are without any contestants in the competition now, and it is between just Cee Lo Green and Blake as to which coach will produce the winner this year. (Cee Lo has yet to win the show, whereas Blake mentored Jermaine Paul last season.)
