‘The X Factor’ UK: Christopher Maloney calls police; Rylan Clark’s rumored gig
Days before the final rounds for “The X Factor” UK, tension is starting to boil over with not only the acts, but with the tabloids … which probably means that we are going to have quite a bit to report this week.
Let’s start out, though, with the stunning news that the drama has become so bad surrounding Christopher Maloney that he has been forced to inform the police about death threats he has been receiving on his Twitter account. To put it bluntly, this is crazy for a number of reasons. Not only are these perpetrators going to get themselves in serious trouble for their remarks, but they are only helping Christopher get a step closer to the grand prize. There is a reason why many contestants this season are being banned by producers from talking about Gary Barlow’s team member: they do not want him to become a sympathy vote. This is the same reason why Tulisa has stopped ripping him so hard in her comments.
In other news… – One of the former contestants who has been told to stay quiet about Christopher is Rylan Clark, who may now have a new gig lined up if he so wants it: “Celebrity Big Brother.” Sources are reporting that the reality series is desperate to try and book the entertainer for the gig, one year after they had another performer from the show in exiled Frankie Cocozza.
Would Rylan accept the gig? It may depend on what other offers are coming this way? He’s already guest-hosting the ITV series “Daybreak,” and he could even become a potential favorite for “The Xtra Factor” in the event that Olly Murs wants to focus more on his music (though we don’t see him going anywhere, considering how tremendous a platform this is for him.
As unworthy a choice as you may or may not feel Christopher is for “The X Factor” UK final, do you agree that death threats are really going to only help him more than hurt him in the voting? If you want to read more news on Union J’s elimination, you can do so here.
