‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Now with a touch of drama
Who says that you cannot get one of the most-underrated dramatic actors to guest star on a comedy show, in particular the highest-rated sitcom on television? With all of this in mind, we present some news that is sure to make just about every fan of “Southland” out there squeal with delight.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Regina King is slated to guest-star in an upcoming episode of “The Big Bang Theory” season 6 airing early next year, where she will be playing a woman by the name of Mrs. Davis. King’s character works as the employee relations director at the university where Sheldon, Leonard, and the rest of the geeks work. Specifically, she gets called in following a rather awkward conversation between Jim Parsons’ character and his assistant Alex (Margo Harshman), who has been recurring for much of the season and has also developed some feelings for Leonard.
This casting may not actually be as coincidental as you would first think. King toured over the summer as a part of the USO with Galecki and “Big Bang Theory” executive producer Steve Molaro, and she formed a tight bond with them as a result. This is also not the first time that she has been a part of a comedy, either, as she was in “Friday” and “Daddy Day Care” along with the animated series “The Boondocks.” Sitcoms, meanwhile, are new territory for her, but this should be a nice way for her to contrast the stellar work that she does on TNT’s best drama series.
What do you think about King’s casting, and is this role perfect for her in your mind? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can take a closer look at the upcoming season 6 Christmas special for the comedy over here.

I like the thread that Leonard doesn’t realize Alex is hitting on him. I’d like to see more interaction between Alex-Leonard & Penny by way of love triangle miscommunications where Penny is jealous in her funny way and Leonard hasn’t a clue that Alex likes him. They should Kiss on the Chrismas Show in the same way Leonard saw Penny Kissing her ex-boyfriend in the Comic Book Store on Halloween. Lots of comedy with Leonard asking Sheldon for love advice and then showing Sheldon trying his advice on Amy with predicably disastrous results.
