‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Take a look back with some laughs

Since “Game of Thrones” season 3 is now done filming, there’s really not too much left to talk about there when it comes to scoop from the set (at least for the time being). With that in mind, why don’t we just sit down and enjoy some of the viral videos that are floating around the internet?

If we were to grade the latest one below, we’d probably give it an A for effort and a B+ for execution, though we do love the simple message here that really the only difference at times between a sitcom and a drama series is a laugh track. Basically, the creators of this video have taken “Game of Thrones” and turned it into “Seinfeld” by taking to random scenes from the first season and adding laughs to them. Does it work? For the first scene featuring Ned and Littlefinger, it works completely and we love every second of it; unfortunately, the scene featuring Tyrion’s famous slap is less effective in that there is not much in the way of comedy here, even if you take the slap out of context. It also drags on for far too long for it to be an effective sitcom bit.

Nonetheless, we do always appreciate it when video creators choose to have fun with the world of Westeros, mostly because this is a world that really could use a touch of levity from time to time. Everything is often so serious in between the characters and some of the situations, and these sort of creations are really just a love expression of just how much people adore this beloved show. (After all, you have to in order to create something like this.)
