Chicago Fire season 6 premiere synopsis looks past ‘who will die?’ mystery
The title for the episode is “It Wasn’t Enough,” and since we don’t want to make you wait too much longer to get the details, you can check out the Chicago Fire season 6 premiere synopsis below:
“With most of the squad still trapped inside the burning warehouse fire, Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) makes a risky last-minute decision in an effort to save his men. Dawson (Monica Raymund) continues to deal with her father (guest star Daniel Zacapa), who has new plans for himself. Brett’s (Kara Killmer) childhood friend Hope (guest star Eloise Mumford) visits the Windy City and strikes the attention of someone within the firehouse, while Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) goes head-to-head with her landlord. Meanwhile, a fire at a high school hits close to home for Boden. Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg, Yuri Sadarov, Joe Minoso and Christian Stolte star. Randy Flagler and Melissa Ponzio guest star.”
One thing that is super-smart about the way that NBC structured this synopsis is that they made sure to not include the names of any of the stars involved into the cliffhanger until the very end. They instead focus more on some of the other big stories coming up beyond the potential death. We’re not exactly surprised to see Dawson’s father back into the mix now, mostly because his recovery from the divorce/being financially destitute is probably going to take a little while. Meanwhile, we’re interested to see what happens with Brett’s childhood friend turning up. Clearly, she’s going to be a love interest for someone in the firehouse, but who? Maybe there is a mystery there, though it’s not anywhere close to the mystery as to who is going to die at the start of the premiere???
Remember, new episodes of Chicago Fire are airing this year on Thursday nights, and we’ve got a feeling that this is going to be especially frustrating for many of you out there given the cliffhanger this time around. Right when you think we’re finally going to learn whether or not Casey and Severide are still alive in the show’s old Tuesday timeslot, you’re stuck for two more nights waiting it out. (For the record, we’re equally concerned about the fate of both Mouch and Herrmann.)
Odds are, once we learn the truth about who is still alive on Chicago Fire, the story will jump forward in time to a certain degree.
