Supergirl season 3: What should be coming up for Jeremy Jordan’s Winn?

Jeremy Jordan

As we get closer to Supergirl season 3, we become increasingly excited about many different characters — but Winn Schott tops the list. We’ve made it very clear already that we’re a big fan of this character and for so many reasons. He’s smart, he’s ambitious, and he also brings much of the joy to the show. Despite having a tough childhood he’s still the optimist, and even though he doesn’t have powers he’s essential often to helping to save the day.

For season 3, we do of course want to see the character challenged further — and we just so happen to have some ways to make that happen.

More Lyra – This relationship was fun, chaotic, but also interesting. We’re doing for getting Tamzin Merchant to do more with this character because it was such an unorthodox, different sort of romance. If there is no clear future for Winn and Kara, we want him to be with someone who does love him in a romantic way and we were getting that with Lyra.

More chances for him to be a solo hero – Think about it this way — an episode where Kara is trapped and Winn has to figure out a way to save her, or where the DEO is in lockdown other than him. We know that he can use his computer skills to his advantage, but we’d like to see him navigate some action sequences in a way that is pure Winn.

More Henry Czerny – Can you bring the Revenge alum back for another go as Toyman? We hope so, given that he was such a unique adversary and a significant source of Winn’s pain. We don’t want to see him in a situation where he suffers, but we also want to see him challenged and to continue to do new and exciting things. More Toyman means more opportunities for him to do just that.

More crossovers – Winn is a character who you want to associate more with some of the other heroes, given that you know he’d be excited to do so in a way that’s similar to Barry on The Flash. We want to see what he’d be like in a room with someone like Sara Lance or Felicity Smoak; heck, anyone on Arrow or Legends of Tomorrow could be fun.

In general, it should be clear that the biggest thing that we’re hoping to see is more Winn story in general. We know that there are a lot of different characters occupying time on Supergirl, but he does bring a great deal to the table and certainly shouldn’t be forgotten longer than an episode or two.

What do you want to see on Winn Schott for Supergirl season 3?
