Poldark season 3 episode 9 (finale) spoilers: Danger for Aidan Turner, cast

When Poldark season 3 episode 9 — otherwise known as the final episode of the year — airs on the BBC next week, there will be some prevailing danger. Even if this is not the first time that we’ve witnessed Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner) and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) in peril, the stakes could be higher than they’ve ever been. Why is that? Much of that may have to do with a sentiment that the walls are closing in and that they are being attacked and focused on from all sides. You obviously have George Warleggan intent to do that in every way that he can, but there are so many other moving parts this season in between the relationship between Morwenna and Whitworth, tensions regarding Ross’ political future, and also the arrival of Hugh Armitage and what he is doing to the Ross – Demelza marriage.

Personally and professionally, these two characters are torn, and there is a reason to be concerned that they may not make it through the season in one piece. Alas, the folks over at the BBC are clearly not too interested in terms of giving you news on what is coming up next for the show. All they released today is the super-short finale synopsis.

Poldark season 3 episode 9 synopsis – “The Poldark family finds itself challenged on all fronts and threatened as never before.”

In other words, people are in terrible danger, and there is a good chance that season 3 ends on some sort of terrible devastating note where you wonder whether or not there is a way for the characters to move forward. There is one slice of optimism out there in the form of an advance season 4 renewal, but that’s optimism only in the form of knowing that the show is going to be coming back. Beyond that, however, there’s no guarantee that anyone will be happy, and the show could leave you off feeling really afraid for some of your favorites’ future.

One thing that we can say with confidence is that there’s not going to be a video teaser for season 4 in the same way that there was for season 3 at the end of the season 2 finale. This season is ending much earlier, and season 3 was already well into production at the time that season 2 ended.

Ross could be heading out to war, judging from the preview that aired tonight. Meanwhile, Morwenna may take some drastic measures in order to ensure her safety as Whitworth’s cruelty continues. Relationships and marriages are at a breaking point.
