NCIS season 15 spoilers: Girl Meets World alum to appear

Cheryl Texiera

We’ve got some of our first major NCIS season 15 guest-starring scoop today, and this one involves a former Girl Meets World actress.

In a post on Twitter, Cheryl Texiera, who played the part of Maya’s mother Katy on the Disney Channel series, confirmed via a series of two side-by-side photos that she will be appearing on the CBS crime drama. You can get a sense here of what her character looks like in a pair of different photos, but that’s the only thing even close to official scoop on her role. That’s something that will probably be hinted at more in due time; just remember for a moment that we’re still a good two months away from the series coming back!

NCIS season 15 started production fairly recently, so with that in mind, it’s probably fair to expect that Texiera is going to be appearing within the first couple of episodes. Season 14 ended with a pretty epic cliffhanger involving Gibbs (Mark Harmon), McGee (Sean Murray), and Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), but we don’t imagine that the show is going to spend too much time simmering on that before starting to move on to some other subjects. That is effectively the NCIS way: They don’t really spend too much time dwelling on any one story, and they allow viewers a chance to jump forward to the next big case coming after that. There’s a new story almost every single week with the show, which is one of the reasons for its continued popularity. You can check out one story, miss an episode, come back, and not feel like you’re lost. It also, thanks to its nature, gives actors a lot of opportunities to stop by for guest roles.

We do still wonder if there is a new character being cast for a full-time role in the future; after all, the producers have not addressed their plans to replace Jennifer Esposito.

Beyond her famous Girl Meets World role, Texiera is also known for guest spots on Raising Hope and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. NCIS season 15 will premiere on CBS this fall, and it’s coming off of winning once more the title of most-watched show in the world. Basically, what we’re trying to say is that Cheryl’s guest spot here is going to be seen by plenty of viewers in the months and years to come.

Excited to see this guest spot, and for NCIS season 15 in general? Be sure to share some of your thoughts in the comments!
