Real Housewives of Orange County: Kelly Dodd, Shannon Beador’s dinner disaster

Kelly Dodd

Monday night’s new episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County offers up one of the first opportunities of the season for Kelly Dodd – Shannon Beador interaction. Suffice it to say, it does not go altogether well.

If you’ve seen the preview at the end of this past episode, then you know a thing or two about what we’re talking about here: Shannon and Kelly run into one another, it doesn’t seem planned, and it ends with screaming and middle fingers and all sorts of other drama while a bunch of confused diners all look on. The thing that we always wonder when some of these sort of the people surrounding the chaos are thinking as much of the insanity breaks out around them.

If you haven’t seen the preview for this episode yet, you can do so over at the Bravo page; the focus here, however, is looking forward now at some of the other storylines that you will see over the course of the episode.

Synopsis – “Trust issues plague Vicki as she organizes her new office. Also, Peggy deals with her looming surgery; Tamra is thrust back into a past role; and Shannon confronts her weight gain as well as her nemesis, Kelly Dodd, who crashes dinner.”

We feel like a part of Shannon’s frustration towards Kelly is probably due in part to her mounting frustrations about everything taking place with her at the moment. After all, you do have to remember that this is someone who’s going through a lot personally, and she just had a major run-in with Lydia McLaughlin on this past episode. (For the record, Lydia looks to have a rather great time in that promo.)

Meanwhile, for Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, the two are facing situations in the present that do harken back to their pasts. Few people have significant trust issues unless they’ve been burned in some substantial way before, and that is what Vicki is clearly dealing with her. This episode will provide a good bit of fun, but there are going to be difficult moments along the way. It’s a Housewives show, and this is what happens; for now, we’re mostly just happy about this season because there are so many different (and interesting) things that we’re getting a chance to see.
