Teen Wolf season 6B trailer: Colton Haynes, Dylan O’Brien returning

Dylan O'Brien

MTV officially unveiled the Teen Wolf season 6B trailer early Monday morning, and there is no longer any questions about Colton Haynes. He’s coming back, and he’s not alone! This trailer confirms that the former show star (gone for many years) will be coming back alongside Dylan O’Brien (Stiles), Tyler Hoechlin (Derek), and many others.

Story aside, the most significant thing about these returns is that they show the sort of passionate loyalty that the cast of Teen Wolf past and present have to their fans. They’re willing to offer up some closure to their characters, and give viewers what is hopefully going to be a heck of a send-off for the series as a whole.

As for why these characters are coming back, much of that seems to be due to a surprising new threat that has arrived in Beacon Hills from a mysterious location, and it’s one that could put the entire town and beyond in grave danger. We’re going to see a combining-of-powers and people, Captain Planet style, in hopes of trying to stop it.

The one thing that should prove to be very useful at this point is the amount of experience that these characters have. Scott McCall can’t be that afraid of anything after almost dying on so many other occasions, right?

As for the other big surprise

Did anyone expect to see Scott and Malia hooking up in a shower? It’s certainly one of the steamier scenes that the show has done (pun intended), but it may also make sense of the producers want to give Scott some romantic closure. There is no evidence that Arden Cho is returning as Kira, and Malia doesn’t seem to be endgame with Stiles anymore. (That seems to be instead the future of the Lydia / Stiles pairing, or so we hope based on the end of the first half of the season.)

There are probably many more shockers / twists where this come from, given that this is just the trailer! If the show is willing to give you this much now, then imagine how many other crazy things are probably waiting in the wings.

The final season of Teen Wolf resumes starting on Sunday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
