Shadowhunters season 2 ratings steady; Stitchers season 3 premiere solid

Shadowhunters season 2 ratingsWant to know the latest Shadowhunters season 2 ratings following the summer premiere? We’ve got news on that below!

For the most part, we’d consider the numbers from Monday night a fairly solid start. Despite it being a time when many viewers are busy — and airing against The Bachelorette — the series managed to kick things off with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is tied for the same live rating that the show got back when it last aired in early March, and its total viewership of 712,000 was the largest total audience for the show since 811,000 back on January 16. That’s an encouraging sign for the future of the show provided that the ratings end up staying put.

With this said, we should go ahead and remind you that Shadowhunters is officially coming back for a third season, so there technically is no worrying at present as to the show’s future. Still, you do want things to stay reasonably solid so that you have that assurance that the show isn’t going to go anywhere for the near future.

As for Shadowhunters’ own timeslot partner, the premiere ratings for Stitchers were fairly impressive in their own right. The first episode posted a 0.2 rating and around 475,000 ratings — while these may not seem like enormous numbers by any stretch of the imagination, the show performed better in both measures than it did during both the season 2 premiere and season 2 on average. Does this mean that more and more viewers are discovering it? Hopefully, since with its short seasons and procedural nature, it does feel like the sort of thing that young viewers should be able to catch up on fairly easily without too much effort. This is also the sort of show that’s very different than any others that are catering to this crowd. There’s something comforting about this format, and it is something that you don’t often get much of a chance to see in other places on the air these days.

Both of these shows will be around for another nine weeks, so in that span of time there will clearly be some more opportunities to analyze these ratings further.
