Chicago Med season 2, episode 17 promo: Someone will die
It’s understandable to be excited for Chicago Med season 2 episode 17 much in the way that anyone would be for a new episode. Unfortunately, at the same time this is not your ordinary episode by any means. “Monday Mourning” is an episode where you will be saying goodbye to a familiar face, and to make matters worse, this character will be taking their own life. This is a story point that’s been floated out in the Chicago Med ether for some time now. We’ve known that someone will die, but at the same time there remains a mystery as to who said someone will be. The only advice that we can offer is to be prepared for it one way or another.
Now, let’s prepare to dive into some of what we know for sure you can expect to see. It’s not much at the moment, but it’s certainly better than nothing.
Synopsis – “Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) face off over how to treat a patient with stroke symptoms while Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) treats a young boy who fell in the river and watches the family turmoil unfold. Meanwhile, Dr. Rhodes (Collin Donnell) examines the man who saved Dr. Manning’s patient and emphasizes the importance of learning from your mistakes to Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo).”
It’s interesting that NBC doesn’t mention the death in here, but both the title and our separate intel should give you enough of a sense that this is something that is going to be coming up. Meanwhile, it does seem as though the Dr. Reese story will further emphasize something that is a theme for much of Chicago Med season 2 to date: Mistakes. They happen, and you have to figure out how you want to recover from them. This, more often than not, is going to reinforce and shape their future. Death happens. It’s a hospital. The challenge in “Monday Mourning” is that it hurts a little more when the death is so personal.
