‘This Is Us’ episode 17 preview: The aftermath of big death; will Kate talk about Jack with Toby?

This Is Us -We shudder to say the words, but that doesn’t make them any less true — there are only two more episodes of “This Is Us” this season before the story comes to a end until fall. It’s a sad thing to think about, but that doesn’t make it any less true. The remaining two episodes of the season are hopefully going to give some temporary closure, and understand a little bit more as to what the future of the Pearson family is going to be.

“What Now?” is the title for the next new episode … and we have a feeling that this in part speaks for itself. The synopsis below does at least give you a small sense as to what is coming up in the wake of William’s death, and how everyone will be moving forward from that. Obviously, Randall will be the one hit the hardest as he still tries to recover. Many other characters will be involved more than they were tonight.

Synopsis – “The entire Pearson family gathers at Randall’s for an unusual party. Kevin and Sophie’s relationship deepens on the night of his play’s premiere. Kate struggles to open up to Toby about her father’s death. Tensions are high between Jack and Rebecca as she leaves on tour with her band.”

Are we going to learn more about what happened to Jack in this episode? His death has remained a big question for much of the season to date; we know that he died when his kids were teenagers, but for the time being, that is everything that we know at the moment. We imagine that there are going to be some nuggets of information that the show will want to save for the second season, but it is not entirely clear at the moment if this is going to be one of them or not.

Promo – Just in case you weren’t cry enough already, this will certainly do it.
