‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7, episode 18 preview: Darius Rucker guest-stars!

Hawaii -Tonight, we saw an episode of “Hawaii Five-0” that featured an appearance from none other than Max Weinberg — which of course was exciting, just as ANY appearance from the E Street Band would be. This is a show that loves its musicians, as we’ve seen the likes of Nick Jonas and Jimmy Buffett turn up. Next, we’re going a little more country as we’ll be seeing Darius Rucker top by. What may surprise you is that you’re going to be seeing him in a role that is very different than who he is in real life.

This upcoming episode is entitled “E malama pono,” otherwise known as “Handle with Care.” Want to get some further news when it comes to what to expect? That’s what the synopsis below is for!

Synopsis – “MacGarrett and Danny finally track down the missing uranium, which has been used to build a bomb located in the middle of the jungle. Now, they must carefully extract the unstable explosive through treacherous terrain before it detonates, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Feb. 24 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Singer Darius Rucker guest stars as Desmond Abati, the bomb maker. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith guest composed multiple cues for this episode.”

Yes, the presence of Smith does mean that there’ll be that extra musical touch to the show, which will be nice — though we certainly don’t think the music on the show is bad now by any means. After all, we’re talking about a theme song that we already consider to be one of the best in the business!

Aside from Rucker’s appearance, this sounds like another dangerous episode, and one that continues a tradition of bringing a scarier side to the show. Looking back now, it’s also as thought the Valentine’s Day episode was meant to be a calm before the storm.

Oh, and we can’t forget the cliffhanger. Tonight’s episode ended on a crazy cliffhanger that featured Alicia Brown pointing a gun square in the face of Dr. Madison Gray. We heard gunfire, but there are no guarantees that she’s actually dead.
