‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4, episode 13 preview: Phil Coulson’s revenge

SHIELD -Tonight on Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD,” we got an episode in “Hot Potato Soup” that absolutely seemed to come from the school of “and now for something completely different.” We had some comedy, a few twists, and a lot of Patton Oswalt as multiple versions of the Koenig “family” all turned up. They were guarding a secret, and it was fun to see the show explore all of that.

Also, it was nice to get a reminder that Bobbi and Hunter were at one point a major part of the show.

So where are we going to see the show go from here? Well, we’re navigating onward to an episode entitled “BOOM,” one that is going to feature a very different sort of adversary than any that we’ve seen the show take on to date. Also, we’re going to be getting a chance to understand more of Radcliffe’s history, at least through the lens of how he was so inspired to create Aida in the first place.

Synopsis – “Daisy, Mace and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team must find a way to contain an explosive Inhuman. Meanwhile, Coulson and Mack come face-to-face with Radcliffe’s inspiration for Aida.”

Promo – When you watch this, it’s pretty easy to figure out why this episode is entitled “BOOM.” This may be the craziest / most violent episode of the show that we’ve had a chance to see yet. It is violent, over-the-top, and it shows the lengths that Phil Coulson is willing to go. After all, just remember for a minute here that Phil learned about LMD May during this episode. Right after the two parties kissed, he learned that the woman he’d been starting to fall for was not actually the real May at all. He has to find her, and then also try to explain to her what in the world is going on. That should be fun…
