‘Victoria’ episode 4 preview: Victoria, Albert, and doubts before marriage

Victoria -

Victoria” on PBS is a show about the journey, and there is no clear way to otherwise describe it. You know how this all ends, so with that in mind there isn’t anywhere near the sort of uncertainty about Victoria and Albert’s relationship that there would otherwise be. However, at the same exact time there are some fun facets of the relationship that the series will showcase, especially as you navigate your way through all of the various ups and downs that the two parties are going to have leading up to their wedding.

On next week’s new episode, you are going to get a rather fantastic opportunity to see some of those doubts play a fundamental role in the story.

Synopsis – “Second thoughts and other complications accent Victoria and Albert’s potential marriage, including whether the queen should promise to obey the foreign prince.”

One of the things that this episode is going to focus on that should prove rather interesting is precisely how much work goes into Victoria choosing to marry someone like Albert. Even if she is the sovereign at the head of the throne, there are many different boxes that need to be checked, especially because of the fact that she is looking to marry someone who is German.

Meanwhile, one other thing that may surprise you is just how funny this episode turns out to be. In general, we do think that the term “period drama” tends to carry around with it a rather massive stink, even when it doesn’t deserve to have that branded up it. Much of it is merely a byproduct of so many of them being far more serious over the years than they really were in reality. People still found ways to laugh and have witty banter in the past!
