People’s Choice Awards: ‘Outlander,’ Sam Heughan, Jennifer Lopez, Caitriona Balfe among winners
Who were some of the big winners at the People’s Choice Awards this year? That’s a question that we’re looking to answer within this article! Given full acceptance speeches
Crime TV Actress – Jennifer Lopez, “Shades of Blue.” Not a huge shock here, just because she was probably one of the biggest names on the list. Still, this is an underrated show.
Premium Cable Actor – Dwayne Johnson, “Ballers.” The moment that we saw him in the audience, we figured he was winning this. With some of the shows that make it to broadcast, this is what we often see sometimes. We love Dwayne, so once again, happy to see him get this.
Daytime TV Host – Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen broke a record! She’s now been chosen by the people more so than anyone else.
Premium Cable Actress – Sarah Jessica Parker, “Divorce.” Parker got a Golden Globe nod for this role; here, she managed to take home the hardware.
Drama Actress – Priyanka Chopra, “Quantico.” Given her recent injury, it was nice to see that she was on the road to recovery and seemingly doing much better.
Comedy Actress – Sofia Vergara, “Modern Family.” She remains a fan favorite and then some! Happy to see her win here.
Network TV Comedy – “The Big Bang Theory.” This show’s dominance continues! It’s won some version of a top prize for many years now.

Actor in a New TV Series – Matt LeBlanc, “Man with a Plan.”
Premium Comedy Series – “Fuller House.”
Network TV Drama – “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Competition Show – “The Voice.”

A great haul for “Outlander”! Starz announced their wins after the show, and this is a tremendous testament to the fans for their hard work. It just goes to show the power of a devoted following. The reason these wins probably weren’t shown is simply because the cast is busy filming season 3. (We just wrote a lengthy piece about how the PCAs should have handled all of the show’s wins tonight.)
