‘Girl Meets World’ season 3 finale promo says ‘Goodbye’ with Mr. Feeny’s return

Girl Meets World -Come Friday night, “Girl Meets World” is going to be airing one last episode on the Disney Channel — and all expectations are that this one is going to be emotional. “Girl Meets Goodbye” is going to be based almost entirely on one key decision: Whether or not Topanga is ready to move her family overseas in order to take on an ambitious new job in London. She’ll get to make her dreams come true, but in turn, this would be a massive challenge for the remainder of her family.

For Riley Matthews, she can only do so much. The first thing that she really should do here is stop and remember that her mother’s not a monster for thinking about this job. She’s trying to provide the best life and future for her family that she can! This just means that for Riley, she should give her input, but also do her best to shore up her own personal relationships in the event that she does leave. She needs to make sure that her friendship with Maya is in a good place, and they need to figure out a plan to ensure that they don’t drift apart (there’s always Skype!).

As for Riley and Lucas, let’s just hope that there is some sort of update on where the two of them stand, and where they are going to go from here. Their relationship is one of the biggest challenges of the show being canceled. During the first two and a half seasons, it felt like the writers were intentionally slow-playing it, knowing that it could be seen as irresponsible to pair together two very young people in a serious romance (even though that’s exactly what “Boy Meets World” did with Corey and Topanga). Unfortunately, they may have gotten a sense that the show was ending several episodes before the finale, and that may have caused them to drift. They’ve since focused on other subjects, and Lucas has been left in some ways on the back burner. Given that they did establish this relationship, they should provide fans some closure.

On the “Boy Meets World” front, expect cameos aplenty — Mr. Feeny is the man who takes center stage in the promo below, but there are others who’ll be turning up.

Remember that this episode is not necessarily the series finale, even though it is for the Disney Channel. There’s still an active effort to bring the show back somewhere else. If you’re a diehard fan, remember that for now, don’t let your bitterness towards the network keep you from watching. Your viewership here can help further ensure that “Girl Meets World” gets a chance to live on somewhere else. A Netflix / any other suitor could be looking at this sort of stuff.
