‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6 spoilers: ‘iZombie’ star Rose McIver will return as Tinker Bell

The following bit of casting news may be the most surprising out of almost any we’ve reported in a rather long time — and yet, potentially the most welcome. Rose McIver will be bringing her character of Tinker Bell back to “Once Upon a Time” a little bit later this season!

This news is potentially glorious given that we have not seen McIver as the character in a couple of years, but there’s been a pretty good reason for that: She’s the star of “iZombie” on The CW, and the production schedules make it difficult for her to hop over from one show to the other. The only thing that is probably making it possible in this case is the mere fact that you’ve got two shows that both film in Vancouver, and with “iZombie” filming a smaller episode order, this does enable things to work out. We certainly know that there is already a relationship there between the shows, as David Anders has also been able to find time in his schedule and film an episode or two of this show as well.

In speaking about bringing Rose back to TVLine, executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz passed along the following message:

“Tinker Bell was integral to Regina discovering her destiny with Robin Hood, so it only stands to reason that with Sean Maguire’s return to the show, our favorite fairy would pop back in for a visit … We’re thrilled that Rose McIver was able to join us once again.”

We know that McIver’s appearance will be coming at some point in the spring, but for the most part, we recognize that this will probably not help narrow things down given that the show isn’t actually going to be coming back until spring, either. We’ll have more news when it becomes available.
