‘Chicago Fire’ – ‘Chicago PD’ crossover video: Lindsay, Severide’s quick encounter

We know that it’s been a rather-long wait since the last episode of “Chicago Fire” came on the air, but here’s a slice of good news: We’re not too far away from the wait being over!

Below, you can check out a sneak peek below from the show’s big return on January 3, which is going to be a two-part crossover event with “Chicago PD.” Taylor Kinney’s Severide will be front and center for most of the story as his status as a free man could in jeopardy, but the preview below takes place before things start to get crazy. Specifically, he runs into his ex Lindsay (Sophia Bush), who overheard about a nice deed that he is in the process of doing. She also seems to think that he and Stella are together romantically, which isn’t exactly the case anymore.

This little back-and-forth is certainly awkward, and we definitely don’t believe that anyone is getting together for drinks anytime soon.

With this said, what does very much excite us about this promo is that it signals that there could be some great opportunities coming up to see whether or not Lindsay and Severide’s past plays a role in whatever investigation is started up against him. Will she be harder on him because of what happened, or see him in more of a sympathetic light than many other criminals that she helps to put away? What will Halstead think about all of this? We do like to think that all of these are very good questions, and things that we’re looking forward to exploring when these episodes air.

One other thing that you can look forward to is an exclusive Q&A with some of the producers of the two shows regarding the big crossover, which we’re planning to publish at some point on January 2.
