‘Supergirl’ season 2: Neil Patrick Harris on ‘The Flash’ crossover musical rumor

Supergirl -

Maybe it is because we’re still coming down from the high that is the latest epic crossover event between “Supergirl,” “The Flash,” “Arrow,” and some of the other DC Comic series on The CW — or maybe it’s because it was announced so long ago. Either way, we haven’t necessarily heard a lot when it comes to musical episode featuring “Supergirl” and “The Flash” that was first announced earlier this year. We know that it probably won’t be here until the spring, and we’re assuming that it’s still probably in the planning stages.

If you recall, one of the more intriguing aspects of it was the idea that it would feature a performance from Music Meister, a character voiced in The Brave and the Bold by Neil Patrick Harris who controls people via song. Given that there are connections to the DC world already, and also rumors of Joss Whedon’s potential involvement, there is absolutely a hope that one way or another, we end up seeing Harris involved in the live-action version of the story. Unfortunately, Harris himself hasn’t had discussions with anyone. While promoting his upcoming work in “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” for Netflix, he had the following to say to IGN:

“I’ve heard about it, but that’s as much as it has been. It was a fun episode; it was a good thing to do… He wears a big zoot suit, from what I remember [and] the song was fun to sing, so I don’t know, we’ll see.”

For right now, we’re classifying this idea firmly in the “pipe dream” category, largely because Harris is probably an expensive get and he’s also a very busy guy; yet, if you get him, it could be a nice boost to the ratings — especially if some of the chatter about Joss Whedon’s involvement also turns out to be true.

We’re obviously still very early in the planning stages of what is going on here, but rest assured that if and when some further news is coming out about this, we’ll have it for you over at the link here. (Photo: The CW.)
