‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ season 7, episode 3 review: Why does everyone think they’re a model?

RHOBH Lisa RinnaLast time on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” we saw Lisa Vanderpump make a fairly inappropriate comment to Eileen at Dorit’s birthday party and while Lisa of course said that it’s just British humor, it was fairly biting since it was poking at the idea of Eileen’s husband cheating on her. We suspect that this is going to be Eileen and Lisa’s storyline this season and that they will beat this into the ground, but maybe we are wrong and Eileen will just walk away from the comment (which is our hope). Either way, this reconfirmed just how far away these two are from a reconciliation. Let’s see what’s in store for us this time.

Want more glamour? It’s Ken’s birthday and last year we saw Lisa buy him two little horses, so this year she wants to find a way to top that. While she initially looked at a watch worth almost a million dollars, it was way to “blingy” for Ken and she settled on a watch worth $25,000. It may not be a million dollars, but that watch is worth more then our car. We also saw Lisa Rinna’s daughter moving towards a modelling career and as much as Lisa wants to reach out to Yolanda since her daughter Gigi Hadid is the most sought after model right now, that bridge is burnt to the ground.

Speaking of modelling we have to pose this question: Why do so many of the children of the “Real Housewives” franchise suddenly think that they can all be models? Gigi Hadid is a great success story, but let’s not forget that her mother is a famous supermodel that had connections to give her the shot in the first place. Now we have Lisa Rinna’s daughter and Sheree’s son Kario to just name a few more that think they should be models too. It reminds us of the time when all of the housewives (and some of the husbands) thought that they were all singers and everyone was releasing singles.

The meat of the episode didn’t really reveal it’s self until the last 7 or 8 minutes for those of you that love a bit of drama mixed in with your glamour. The ladies (and some of their husbands) all met up at a white party being held at Pump and that’s when things between Erika and Dorit started to get a little tense. Lisa V. and Dorit were both taking and receiving jabs all in good fun (British humor as they both call it). Erika asks why can’t people just be nice instead… but also makes the sly comment that they should all adopt fake British accents and start insulting each other. Lisa V. says the idea of being nice to everyone is an American way of thinking and when Dorit tries to step in and talk about how “Americans” need to loosen up, Erika calls her out on being an American herself – to which Dorit says that because she’s American she feels she can speak on this subject.

When Erika reveals that she’s not wearing any underwear it seems to break the tension a bit, but later when Dorit and PK are talking about it at home, it’s a little awkward to say the least. PK reveals that he could see up Erika’s dress pretty much the whole time and that while it was a bit uncomfortable, he still liked the view. Dorit asks if he was turned on and he says no – which is the right response whether it’s true or not. Props to PK for being pretty honest about the situation and to Dorit for taking it in stride. Not every wife would be that cool about their husband spending the night looking up another woman’s skirt.

What Dorit said in this episode is true – that there are many of us ladies out there that have gone commando in order to avoid the underwear lines in a fabulous dress – so we don’t think it’s a big deal that Erika did as well for this party, but after seeing the preview for next week’s episode where Dorit gives Erika a pair of underwear as a joke to cover herself up and Erika taking this just about as badly as she can, we see that UnderwearGate is far from over. Episode grade: B-
