‘Girl Meets World’ star Rowan Blanchard hopes for season 4 renewal; what you can do
Can we finally put some of the stupid rumors about Rowan Blanchard not wanting a season 4 of “Girl Meets World” to bed? With all of the talk about fake news pouring over when it comes to mainstream news, it’s happening just as often in the realm of entertainment news.
Maybe it’s because people know that they can rile fans up by insinuating that the show’s getting canceled, or that the cast members are feuding, or maybe they just like to make people upset. It’s hard to really say. All that we do know with confidence is this: Everyone who works on the show seems to love their job, and would love to be able to continue doing it. In part, it’s because doing this show is more than a job: It’s an opportunity to project a voice, and have that voice be heard to many people who are impressionable at this point in their lives. It’s a beacon of hope, and whether it be with the stories on the show or with the people away from the show, we’re certainly in an era where we need more happiness and hope than ever. “Girl Meets World” is a tremendous purveyor of such things.
With that said, let’s try to get this show renewed! Rowan Blanchard is an advocate of it, as she references in the post below from her Twitter account. Meanwhile, we know that the majority of viewers feel the same way.
Admittedly, we’re not an exit in Disney Channel ratings as much as we are the numbers for more adult-oriented networks, so it’s hard to tell precisely what the network is looking for in key measures. What we do know is that this show is a generator of press, it drives social traffic, and it brings a demographic of people to the network that it may otherwise have. While we’ve been a supporter at times of Freeform picking up the show and airing it, as a means of being able to tell more relevant stories to high schoolers, the reality here ultimately is that we’re not altogether discriminatory. We just want the show to air, and it doesn’t matter too much to us where that venue is so long as there is a venue out there somewhere.
In the end, the best thing that you can do to support the show and hope for a renewal is to watch it live, encourage your friends to the same thing, and make it clear via our social channels why you love the show so much. Use the hashtag #GirlMeetsWorldSeason4 if you so choose.
