‘Westworld’ episode 7 preview: The dangers of creation

What happens when you start to realize that your power is truly limited, and the lines between AI and human are starting to fall apart entirely? You get a situation that is bubbling to the top, which can also be described as the next new episode of “Westworld” on HBO. This episode is going to be fascinating when it comes to seeing how some characters could start to turn … but it may not be altogether hopeful for some other characters, as well.

Synopsis – “Maeve gives an ultimatum to Lutz and Sylvester; Bernard looks for a way out of a precarious situation; Charlotte seeks to reveal critical mistakes in Ford’s creations; William, Dolores and Lawrence find themselves in dangerous territory.”

Danger is a fact of life for this show; in one way or another, you’re going to see that on this show constantly. The question is how you recover from it. Maeve’s “upgrade” in particular was one of the most powerful moments of the episode tonight, and in the aftermath, hearing about an ultimatum should not be too much of a surprise.

As for “mistakes,” shouldn’t those be revealed by this point? What we are starting to see here is even more of a case of a select few trying to play god, and determine the full reach of their power.

Promo – What this indicates to us mostly is that as the AIs start to become more advanced, their impact on the world is going to be far more significant; as a result of that, there are positive and negative repercussions. Delores arguably has underwent the most emotional journey that we’ve seen over the course of the season so far.
