‘Chicago Med’ season 2, episode 8 (fall finale) preview: Dr. Charles, Dr. Rhodes clash
Tonight’s “Chicago Med” was an episode where key decisions took center stage. For Sharon Goodwin, her interest in seeing a past love stay alive under any circumstances. For Dr. Rhodes, it meant doing what he could in order to save a patient in Pamela despite questions as to whether she could consent for a surgery. This is a high-stakes world, and often you don’t have the time to second-guess many of the choices that you make.
Moving into next week’s fall finale “Free Will,” decisions will once again be at the forefront, but at the same time the conflicts will be incredibly different. Not only that, but not all of them will be directly related to patients, as there is a chance for a romance to develop between Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Charles’ daughter in epidemiology, someone he’s been desperate to loop in to various cases as a means to further spend time with her.
Synopsis – “Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) deal with two warring brothers who are brought together when one finds himself in desperate need of a kidney. Dr. Reese’s (Rachel DiPillo) former patient Danny (guest star Nick Marini) comes to a crossroad. Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Dr. Latham (guest star Ato Assandoh) treat a 16-year-old girl with a genetic condition in need of surgery, but whose overprotective mother disagrees with that course of action. A convict with unusual intentions puts himself in the hospital and Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) meddles in his daughter Robyn’s (guest star Mekia Cox) personal life, much to her dismay. Meanwhile, Dr. Halstead and April (Yaya DaCosta) make a discovery that complicates her treatment for TB.”
Sophia Bush will be guest-starring once again, and we hope that the story of Danny does get some sort of happier conclusion by the time that the episode rolls around to the finish line. If nothing else, maybe we can get some progress in that direction? As for the relationship between Connor and Robyn, that’s the sort of thing that is a little more challenging to analyze until we see it play out in front of our eyes.
Promo – What is great about this is that it focuses on something altogether different than what we have in this article so far. It discusses further the case of the two brothers referenced in the synopsis. One of them is HIV-positive, and with the pressures of time, one devastating question rises to the surface: Do you give someone HIV in order to save their life?
