‘Supergirl’ season 2: Chris Wood teases Mon-El’s immediate future
Chris Wood (“Containment,” “The Vampire Diaries”) is the man responsible for this role, and in speaking about Mon-El’s future to TV Guide, he made it clear that there are some very-clear struggles that you will see him face now in his present predicament:
“We start to see a more settled version of Mon-El. We start to see his quirks and his ticks, and what he’s really like. You start to see that when he’s talking to Kara, but there’s still a hint of frustration and animosity because he’s stuck in a prison cell. He’s dealing with the news that his planet is gone. You see how he takes that. Is he the type of person who wallows in it or does he sort of brush it off and pretend that everything is fine? How does he handle having super powers for the first time in his life? We get to see all of that pretty quickly. We learn a little more of his backstory and how he got here.”
What we do like about this character in particular is that he’s almost living on a knife’s edge in terms of where he is right now and where he could be in the future. There’s no guarantee that he will find happiness and unity with Supergirl, and could very easily become a villain if things do not turn out right.
