‘The Real World: Bad Blood’ episode 1 review: Can Tyara Hooks find a way to fit in?

Real World“The Real World” is back for it’s 32nd season! This is one of the longest running reality shows and while it still has the same premise (a bunch of wild young people in a house together), MTV has done a great job of throwing in fun twists each season. So what’s the twist this season? Bad Blood! We are thinking that this is going to be a lot like “Real World: Skeletons” (season 30), where we will see some people from their pasts show up and stir the pot. Through one episode, though, the show is waiting on that reveal.

The house, of course, is filled with a lot of young and wild people that haven’t spent much time away from home. Of course it all starts out great where everyone is getting along, but it doesn’t last. Does it ever? The girls have all gotten close really quickly, but Tyara feels left out. The ladies come up with the idea to do a family night and ask personal questions to get everyone to open up and it’s mostly to get Tyara to open up. Unfortunately she’s not interested getting this personal this quickly and leaves the game. Tyara goes to the confessional room and lays down on the floor behind the couch to get some sleep since it’s the only quiet place in the house. Jordan and Theo go to confessional and talk about what happened including Tyara not participating, and she thinks they are talking badly about her.

The first night out Mike and Jordan make a romantic connection… sort of. She likes to flirt but isn’t interested, where as Mike thinks he has a green light to be with her. That is until he tries to kiss her and she says no. Mike is coming across as a bit of an instigator and needled Robbie after he got pressured into doing something he didn’t want to do.

One thing we were really excited to see is a really diverse cast! Also, the women this season are all from the land of giants, for real. Great cast and because of that we think this season is going to be a good one. There’s some drama and interesting characters, and for now that makes for a good foundation. Episode grade: B
