‘Shameless’ season 7, episode 3 preview: Frank’s new ‘friends’; Carl’s scary situation

“Shameless” by and large is not a show that spends much time sitting around and trying to assess what’s gone wrong. Instead, you’ve got a bunch of selfish people acting in the moment, and not often caring what the consequences. We do think that there are a few people on this show, with Fiona being one of them, who are evolving; it’s just that some other people may be overshadowing some of that with their ridiculous antics.

For some evidence of that, you just have to look at Frank making some unusual “friends” on next week’s new episode “Home Sweet Homeless Shelter” (great title), or Kevin’s attempt at a business shelter that is probably going to crumble in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, a few other characters will face some rather serious consequences to their actions.

Synopsis (via TV Guide) – “Kevin, Veronica and Svetlana start a topless maid service; Frank makes new friends at the shelter to replace his family; Debbie’s new lifestyle comes to an abrupt end; Carl gets a syphilis scare; Ian struggles with a breakup; business at Patsy’s hits the skids.”

Are some of these people going to have a wake-up call soon? It sure sounds like it.

Promo – We’ll have some analysis on that once tonight’s episode concludes. Now that we’ve seen it, we can offer up a few more observations. First of all, Fiona’s going to have a hard time keeping people from showcasing some rather unwelcome habits. Also, we’re going to be seeingFrank literally take his “replacement family” at the shelter so far that he will be giving them all names in accordance with his original family.

Also, Carl’s “scare” is going to be in part due to a rather feisty confrontation.
